NEAC developed an update to its 2007 publication ‘Getting Through Together: Ethical Principles for a Pandemic’(external link)’. An online survey sought feedback on the draft updated publication, called ‘Ethical Guidance for a Pandemic: Whakapuāwaitia e tatou kia puāwai tātoui [PDF, 1.8 MB](external link)’, and a series of focus groups were held from 26 July to 1 November 2022.
Through the online survey and focus groups, NEAC wanted to know if the ideas contained within the draft revised publication were shared ideas based on shared values. Contributions from all voices, individuals, communities and organisations were welcomed and encouraged.
The consultation provided an opportunity to inform the ethical guidance for future pandemics in Aotearoa New Zealand.
NEAC produced a summary of submissions following the consultation on the draft Ethical Guidance for a Pandemic.
